The slow process of buying a home.

I can't exactly remember when we made the offer on the house, but I'm guessing that it was the first week of August. We still haven't gotten the OK from the bank. And after the bank OK's it it goes to RD (rural development) where it is supposed to take like 2-3 weeks. I do realize that everyone is buying right now because of the $8,000.00 offer, but dang. I am still happy to be buying this house, but it's difficult to get super excited like I thought I would be. Maybe it will hit me when we close on the house. Our timeline for all of this to happen starts at October 15th. We hope that will be our closing date so that it will allow us to have 2 weeks and 2 days to get appliances installed, a new cabinet, paint, and be moved in. We haven't had a chance to tell the apartment complex about our move out date. They are open on Saturdays, but no one is ever in there! So that irks me a little. I just like plans-and none of this is allowing me to plan.
